Grundig Satellit 208 Grundig not resting on it's laurels from the success with the 205 Grundig brought the Grundig Satellit 208 Transistor 6000 to the market. It came with several technical improvements (eg Dopelsuper) to the 205 and "another outfit's" offerings. The 8 band drum tuner had now also been mounted vertically and covered the bandwidths between 5 and 30 mhz.1.6 to 5 mhz had now been moved to the main scala ans was designated as KW 1. This particular receiver has been and is still lauded as THE most significant Grundig Satellit by Grundig affecianados and shortwaqve radio fans the world over. With it's handsome lines, ease of use and superior tone the Grundig Satellit 208 Transistor 6000 was made available in a black "pleather" and the grill had the "Sonnenschliff" or a walnutveneer and walnut pattern grill cover. A special note: Very early radios also had the Grundig Satellit 205's gray leather. These are exceedingly rare.

GRUNDIG SATELLIT 208 TRANSISTOR 6000 A short 2 years after the successful debut of the now legendary Satellit 205, Grundig introduced it's successor: The Satellit 208 (built for 2 years 1967-1969). This new "all-wave" model Top super receiver provided multitude of improvements to the previous model. First came the use of the "double Super Principle" . Also,"field effect" Transistors were integrated in the FM section. The 205s drum tuner which was mounted horizontally was movd into a vertical postion allowing for the 208 to extend it's range in the shortwave range to 8 band ranges. The 11m and 13m ranges were included. The use of specially tuned HF pre-stages provided the 208 with the best reception in the MW and Long Wave ranges. Through the use of a Broadband switch, this World reciever has improved reception in the AM band. The reception in the High and Low frequncies were also much improved. Through the use of an optional reception component unmodulated and SSB signals could also be recieved.
